Objective

To change young Canadians’ negative perceptions of their looks by helping them embrace individuality and feel more confident, while reinforcing Sephora’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity in beauty.

Insight

Insecurities about appearance are widespread—97% of people feel dissatisfied with at least one feature. Yet, the very traits they view negatively are often seen as beautiful by others.

Idea

Show your unique look — because beauty is yours to define.
Create visuals which symbolize Sephora’s commitment to diverse and inclusive beauty by highlighting distinctive features that different races have and incorporating these into the brand identity. The minimalistic illustrations highlight unique traits such as monolids, freckles, natural curls, and unibrows. Inspired by the brand’s aspirational image, the design and copywriting aim to transform insecurities into confidence and self-love.

The billboard is placed in a shopping mall with a mirror, featuring the headline and statement written directly on it to capture attention and invite engagement.
